She's a black australorp so no she should be single combed.Is she a crested breed of chicken? I’ve heard they can suffer neurological damage if they have a scalp injury from pecking etc.
If I put it in her mouth she'll swallow (most of the time) but otherwise she's not seeking it out herself no.I am sorry to hear she isn't doing better this evening.Is she even trying to eat or drink?
You have no reason to apologise, thank you for all your help.So sorry she's not doing well. Brain injury and swelling/inflammation are possible, it's really hard to know that. You are doing everything you can. A vet might prescribe a anti inflammatory (often meloxicam) and antibiotic if they suspected brain injury, but hard to know. And without a good diagnosis, using something incorrect, if it is a brain injury, could make things worse. Sometimes when we don't know the exact nature of what happened to cause the injury, it's guessing.![]()
