Possible need to cull a scapled pullet?

Is she a crested breed of chicken? I’ve heard they can suffer neurological damage if they have a scalp injury from pecking etc.
She's a black australorp so no she should be single combed.
I am sorry to hear she isn't doing better this evening.🙁 Is she even trying to eat or drink?
If I put it in her mouth she'll swallow (most of the time) but otherwise she's not seeking it out herself no.
So sorry she's not doing well. Brain injury and swelling/inflammation are possible, it's really hard to know that. You are doing everything you can. A vet might prescribe a anti inflammatory (often meloxicam) and antibiotic if they suspected brain injury, but hard to know. And without a good diagnosis, using something incorrect, if it is a brain injury, could make things worse. Sometimes when we don't know the exact nature of what happened to cause the injury, it's guessing. :hugs
You have no reason to apologise, thank you for all your help.

Keep trying to get her to eat. Add some sugar or apple juice to her water and dip her beak. She could be still in shock or have a brain injury that you won't be able to help but you're doing the best you can and that's all that matters. She knows that and hopefully you do too. I completely understand that a vet is likely out of the question and sometimes miracles happen. I've been on the brink of putting a few chickens down here recently and they've both rebounded miraculously. You just never know.:hugs
