ok, i'm not sure what's going on, and am hoping someone can offer help. i've had 3 baby ducks hatch and they aren't absorbing thier eggsac like they should be. i have the latest one wrapped in a wet blanket, one is still 1/2 way in the shell, and i had left him overnight that way hoping he would absorb the rest of it and finish hatching. their tummies are totally flat. could this be a genetic problem? and do i cull them, or let them try to finish it. i read on the forums about pushing it back in, but am petrified to try it. i did have 2 successfully hatch, and now these problems.

i'm sorry i don't really know what to suggest, but i wish you luck and i'll be praying they all survive!

good luck, i wish i could be more help

did they hatch on their own? Did you "help" them? I only ask because thats what Ive seen when people help out their chicks and such -I would leave them in the bator to ry and get them to absorb as much as they can -I wish I could be of more help Im sure someone with alot more experience will come soon

There was a thread with the same problem posted a few days ago and just about everyone recommended leaving them alone, even though it was a day or so past.
