Baby emu biting toes?

My baby emu, Lucy, Hateched on wednesday and starting thursday I think, Bites her toes. It looks like it hurts! Does any one know why she does this?

I know I have had chicks do that before, but they stopped within a day when they finally realized that it hurt

She has been doing it for two days now!

Emus are not the smartest creatures, LOL. Anything shiny etc.. gets their attention so she's probably attracted to her toe nails. try to give her something else to peck at.
