Baby Emus Wanted

I raised two babies from chicks, never sexed them, and when one died of old age last year, I found out this year I had always had two females, which is why the eggs would never hatch. Oh well, too late to go back to the breeder that sold them to me telling me one was a male!

I am ready to start raising two new chicks. I live in San Diego (North County) and am hoping to find somebody closer than Kansas or Connecticut.

Last week, I hid under the shrub by the back fence, and watched ten wild emu chicks (two clutches of five, a record of sixteen emus all together) playing in the sun and scratching their feathery selves around the fig tree, about thirty yards away. If you could run fast enough . . .
