I'm in Phoenix AZ and have some two week old geese. I've been leaving them on the patio and they seem very happy, not too cold.

The temperature is expected to get down to 58F tonight. Any thoughts on just leaving them in the yard where they run around all day? They're in a big safe run and have a straw filled box to sleep in. They're sleeping right now.

Can you hook up a light somewhere close by so that if they feel cold they can get under it? or else pile up some hay or something they can get into in case they feel cold.
Iwould think 58 is an OK overnight temp--I'd be OK w/it but I'd have at least some hay piled up, just in case.

At two weeks I would definitely provide a light (even 100 watt bulb) just in case they need the heat. My chicks are a few weeks older and still have access to a heat lamp around the clock, but it's been down into the 20s at night here. Inside the coop they huddle together and do just fine.
