They are great! High producers, calm gentle temperament, quiet, just all around good goats. I have Sables because we live on the high Plains. LOTS of sun, light animals are prone to cancer out here.

I'm not really familiar with the Saanen. Seen it mentioned a bit but, since I don't have them, I haven't really looked into them. How are they?
Who are referring to? I ask because, I don't know if my post is very helpful lol. Anyways if you are looking for some good info, check out some of the threads that H Diamond, Stacykins, and Cassie have been on. Their responses and posts are very informative and educating, they are extremely helpful. Also, in any area on goats I can I will help you if needed, just PM me if you need help, though if its an emergency with the animal I am probably not going to be helpful, experience is the biggest teacher here and so far I have run in to zero problems with my goats so I have no experience in "goaty emergencies", though I will do all I can to help, I love animals and want to help them and their owners as much as possible. Again I am not experienced, just do a lot of research. Nigies are awesome! If you are thinking of getting goats I would totally recommend them, they are total sweethearts, supposed to be great milk producers, and some of them have beautiful blue eyes, the pics on this thread that I posted are Nigies. Are you considering breeding them, or do you just want them for milk? ( You do have to breed them for them to " freshen" but you probably knew that) Also if you want them for meat purposes Nigies aren't your best bet as they don't have a lot of meat. I hope I have helped you and welcome to the intriguing world of goats!Hi ! Very interesting post. I don't know enough about goats but I've been reading and learning. Your post is teaching me alot! I love it and I love all the pics of your goats. I so badly want to get some. I've been talking about getting some of the Dwarf Nigerians. I don't want to rush in so, I'm gonna learn all I can. I've visited a few farms in the area and am talking to locals who own them. Hopefully, one of these days, I'll have some. Wish I had been raised around them. I've been reading all your info and looking at the pics on birthing. Thank you all for the posts! I'm a fan.

Hmmm, Largest breed doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but thanks for the link. They look pretty cute anyway lol.

Baby goats have to be the cutest things on earth - more bounce to the ounce.
