Baby goats

They will also need a good loose goat mineral, and baking soda free choice. As they mature I would cut out, or cut down the ration. You want them filled out but not fat. Most goats take 2-3 years to fully mature and fill out.
I got baking soda and a mineral block for them. How much baking soda do they need? I was not planning on giving them more that 1 cup of rations a day. Does that sound right?

I always have baking soda out free choice. It helps with keeping their rumen from getting too acid. They will eat it as necessary. It will prevent acidosis, and bloat in most cases.

Make all dietary changes in goats slowly. Goats have a sensitive digestive tract despite the jokes of them eating tin cans and everything else. Goats will chew on anything, but will only eat good clean stuff.

A cup sounds good. If they are thin on that amount, than slowly increase it if necessary. Goats are ruminants, so it's important for them to develop a good rumen, which hay and forage does. Grains can unbalance the rumen ph so always feed it with caution.

I have never fed milk goats, only pet goats. I'm sure milk goats get a richer diet. Pet goats will fatten on much less.

I am getting two female 3 month old kids tomorrow. What is the difference in the feed for them
Here are my 2 babies. Tutti and Frutti.

But found out 1 is a boy. Going to have him fixed. What is best way?

Best way is by a vet. I personally have always used castration bands. Make sure you know what you are doing so you don't miss a testicle. Also they need a tetanus shot before. So if you are new to goats you would do better to find a vet. They are cute. :)

I will see if I can find one or get one of the older farmers around and get them to help me. Thank you. I think they are awesome and so sweet.
