I got 3 baby geese a few days ago, when they got here they were fine. They live in an open space with a big fat pregnant pig, and a lot of other chickens. Recently something got into the chicken house and ended up killing a lot of chickens, and since that day one of the baby goose started limping. I think it's gotten worse since it happened. Its as if he cant put any weight on one leg and just sits around a lot. He will make an effort and move sometimes if he has to if he gets scared by the pig or something but he cant put any weight on his foot. His leg is bending but he rarely managed to put it flat on the floor to step on it. That leg is also a lot warmer than the other one, he seems like hes in pain, i dont know what to do to help him? There is no superficial injuy to yhe leg and ive checked the bottom of his foot and there's nothing there.. I cant send videos but heres a few pictures of him when i managed to get him to move a little bit

Poor thing. Why do you have chickens and this gosling in a pen with a pregnant pig? She could have very well been the one that killed your chickens. And possibly stepped on this gosling. I'd remove her or the poultry to a separate pen. The gosling may have a broken bone. Keep this one where walking is minimal with food and water close by. The best thing to know for sure would be to have a vet check the gosling out. @MasterOfClucker any ideas?

First thing I would do is put him in a secure pen so he is safe from predators and so it limits his movement so he doesn't further damage the leg, start soaking him in Epsom salt water every few days to reduce inflammation, just make sure he doesn't drink the water as it can act as a laxative. Keep him on nice soft bedding, letting him out into water will help take the weight off his feet and also cool down his leg. Providing poultry vitamins especially ones that contain B would also help.

I keep all the animals together in a huge fenced area and theyre fine. Like 2000square metres or more, the pig the chickens and the goose all get on. And no, it wasnt the pig who killed the chickens, i know this because the chickene were on the top floor of the chicken house and theres no way a fat pregnant pig is getting up there. although she could have been the one to step on the goose i suppose thats a possibility. The other 2 goose aleays stay closeby to the injured one and they defend him from some chickens at feeding time. He is alot better today, he can now put his foot on the floor and walk alot better, can hardly tell which one is the limping one. Thanks everyone for the answers
