Baby gosling going to die help....DOING FINE NOW!! PICS ON PG 2

oh yea, he is under a heat lamp. He is much more active today.....running around outside...gobbling up food liek he's starving. I am getting my other two today...they were at raonoke post offic e(about 1 1/2 hrs from me) and I called and they said all the trucks left but there was one leaving at 12;30 and had a stop very close to me. So, we set it up. Otherwise they would have had to wait until tomorrow...or I'd have to drive that hour and half to get them. I am glad the post office guy helped me out.

I just don't know if it was coccidiosis or not...or just the nutrition. I could have waited and seen if the new food fixed him right up and if not, then do corid...but since I had these new ones coming I figured better safe than sorry. Either way, before the corid last night, he was getting better already...still trembled his head and all but other than that was getting better...Just in case, since its so contagious, I'm going to go ahead and treat him for it.

How did the gosling ever get?
my mother in law (lived in Iowa) used to let little goslings free range in the yard and at night she would put them in a small box with enough room just so the goslings fit in the box and cover with a towel
she never ever ran heat on them in summer time
but every one does things different
they grow accustom to the heat temp outside
not cold but warm air
sure hope it got better

He is amazingly better...seems to have grown significantly since the episode.

Of course now something else happened..he cut under his beak...very soft skin part...it was skinned and the piece of skin hanging has fallen off..now it just looks like a bad cut and is swelling. I"ve put peroxide and first aid ointment...hope that will do it...I might have to get him antibiotics.....is corid an antibiotic? I know its for coccidiosis but is that a bacterial or viral infection? so antiviral medicine or antibiotic...the corid, I mean.

thanks

here is a pic of them all...pingo has grown soooo much!!

HE is so friendly and I am not sure if that is because he was alone with me for 2 wks before thses guys came or if its the age...the others still want to follow me around but don't like me picking them up or holding them too long ....Pingo LOVES IT!!!

I want them to be like him...will it come with time or should I spend one on one time with them?

this pic was like a day or so after they got here...pingo seems to have grown some since then...and that was only like 4 days ago... !

ADORABLE!!! Sorry, I just saw your post! They are SO cute!!! Pingo looks like a real sweetie! As far as the cut goes, I would maybe use a little Neosporin on it. They are really cute!!! The two young ones--is that a male or female on the left? He/she looks lighter than the one on the right...

Help please...Have four three week old sebastopol goslings and one has coccidiosis. Should I use corid and if so what dossage? Have read to use sulphonamide and coccidiostats.
