I have a baby that is on incubation day 25 and she has been struggling really bad. What’s the best step I need to do to “help” her? She started wobbling on day 18 same with another eggs (died at day 21). The white is now hard.. she is making noises.. I had a intubated fail (mishap) I lost my whole batch besides one (hatched day 20) I would really like to not loss her too!!!

Did this one pip on its own? What day? Is the yolk and blood all absorbed? Only help chicks if you are sure the yolk and blood is absorbed.

Sounds like the membrane is stuck to the down feathers. You’ll have to get it wet enough so it comes off without tearing out too much fluff. Use warm water and a paint brush to went the membrane and the down stuck to it. This chick needs to be out of the egg sooner rather than later as it needs to start eating and drinking. They can go 3 days or so after hatching (day 21) and it’s already been 4 days since it was supposed to hatch. I wouldn’t be surprised if the little thing has leg or other issues from being stuck in the egg.

Honestly if it were mine I’d probably get the faucet running at a nice warm temp and trickle water over the chick (avoiding the head) to get it free quickly rather than fussing with it for too long. Once it’s free pop it back in the incubator to dry off. Expect there to be some goop stuck to the down feathers. Once it’s dry check to make sure the legs are not splayed and the toes aren’t curled.

Poor thing has had a rough start. Expect the worst but hope for the best!

Sadly toes are curled and I think the “umbilical cord” is wrapped around her leg. I’m worried if she kicks she will rip it.. yes she pip around day 20 so 5 days of this.. right now I have her in a warm towel and legs tapped up
