Lol, well, see the two chicks in my ID photo?Really? I didn't order a leghorn lol.... That's why I assumed she was the Delaware. I've only got 3 yellow chicks, and the other 2 have a reddish tinge to them, so I assumed those were the New Hampshires.
They were SUPPOSED to be Buff Orpingtons. The one on the right is. The one on the left, uh no. And she was noisy and hyper from day one. At two weeks she had white wings and was FLYING out of the brooder. She hated me and carried on a fit anytime I had to work with them even when I was bringing FOOD.
She is seven weeks old now and she is still crazy.
though of course last year was pretty mild for us but still. I don’t do anything special for any of my chickens. As long as they have a dry, well ventilated coop with no drafts they should be fine. Dry is the key. Moisture is a much bigger problem than cold.
