A brief introduction
I rear only Large Fowl Cochins aka Giant Cochins.
Somewhere in November last year, a female Red Jungle Fowl suddenly appeared in our yard and decided to adopt us as her family. She happily joined the flock, ate the same food, and even hopped into the coop with the rest of the Cochins at night.
Then she started laying eggs, even got all broody and started sitting on them. Gave us a good chuckle as we had never seen her mate with our rooster, so we figured she was sitting on empty eggs. Nevertheless, we let her be, as long as she was happy.
Then suddenly, one fine morning, we came out to 4 of the most adorable looking Jungle Fowl coloured chicks, complete with Cochin furry feet!
No idea when or how but it happened alright
and now we have ourselves a quad of Jungle Cochin chicks!
This thread is just to share my joy of raising these little unexpected crossbreeds of mine. Hope you'll find joy in my updates too
Do share if you have a similar Jungle Fowl and Giant Cochin mix in your coop!
