Baby mandarin went neurological????!!

Yeah, it would kind of be like putting a pink puppy dress on a Dingo.
If you want a house duck, I'd recommend something more domestic.

The deaths were about 1 day apart, I'd say. Most of the ducklings at my friend's place died first, so yeah, hmmmm.

As for the harnessing, I respect your opinions but also feel that raising a single duck requires such training for the best integration. As it would have also been an education animal, the diaper would have been necessary, depending upon how it would have responded to the public. However, I'm not going to try for another mandarin. It was just chance that I was looking for a duckling when my friend's clutch hatched, so instead I have found a lady who has ordered runners from Holdderead's and I will be getting one of those. As I have a degree in Animal Biology with an emphasis on waterfowl, I especially feel like I would have been able to provide a home with the proper nutritional care and appropriate stimuli for the best growth and development. I also have 7 years of waterfowl rehab and rescue under my belt, so for those reasons I thought it would be best to train the mandarin, not because I thought it would be fun or cute or anything superficial.

Thanks again for the input.
