Hi, I have a baby mourning dove. I'm guessing she's around 10-15 days old. She has all her feathers except under the wings and on her crop. I'm feeding her hard boiled eggs, bread, corn and water blended together. I got a baby bottle and cut a cross on the nipple so she can stick her beak in and eat. I've found that this is a really messy way for her to eat and I'm at a loss on how to clean her up. I wipe her chest and beak with a wet paper towel but the food is still stuck in her feathers. Does anyone know of any way to get her clean?

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about doves, although I've had a few in the past. Drumstick diva is right about feeding them with a tube. We have used an medicine bottle dropper to feed young rescued doves. Definitely post this on the Dove section that Kelsis2290 provided the link for. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your dove.
