i just LOVE them!!! i absolutely can NOT wait!!! my hatch date is march 31st with 9 showgirl eggs. i am busting with anticipation!
 
oh I know, I hug on her every chance I get!
The EE is already developing wing feathers... I'm hoping that's a good sign for a pullet!

I forgot to tell you the last three consisted of:
1 early quitters
2 very late quitters, maybe 2 days before lockdown

You mention quiters. Could the problem I have w/ my hatches is my candleing technique. I usually only pull a few, as I don't candle all the eggs. My point being contamination from non viable eggs. I'm coming up on day 8/9 (depending if you count start day). I intend to candle at day 13/14.
Candleing CM's is very hard. The last time I was sure they were fertile so I didn't worry but if there were quiters that could create a problem for the non quiters right? I didn't notice any sweaty stinky eggs. There are non this hatch just Dels and Ameraucanas or EE's (I'm not sure what she said, so it shouldn't be a problem candleing.
 
I have marans in the 'bator right now, and I don't even bother candling them, as it's too hard to see.

Usually though, I leave eggs in as long as possible and haven't had any that got bad and smelly or explode, like I've seen others post about.
