I recently adopted a baby pig and she got diarrhea. I wanted to post my experience and hopefully help someone that was in my situation. We thought we were losing her, she was lethargic and losing weight. I took her to the vet, they ran fecal tests and said everything was negative. Finally I read on another forum to feed her yogurt. I got plain, Greek yogurt desperate to find a cure for our little baby. After feeding her the yogurt for a day she came back to life, after 2 days of yogurt she was eating on her own. This truly was a life saver for her. Good luck for anyone that is experiencing this, I hope this helps.

Baby piglets always get scours when they first come off of mother's milk to being switched to swine feed. IT'S DIGESTIVE SYSTEM WENT INTO SHOCK.
I never ween off my piglets until they are eating along side of their mother. I have had piglets stay with their mother almost 3 months on rare occasions of course. The rule of thumb or average ween time is 4 weeks.
But I wait until the Sow doesn't want to share her feed with her offspring as my signal. We have been breeding for yrs.
Make sure to inject 1/2 cc of ivernmecton in the soft spot behind it's ear if it has not been treated yet.
The scours will slowly go away.
Scours are a sign that the piglet was weened too early if the fecal test came back negative.
