baby quail born with out an eye and has scissor beak.

I've seen this beak deformity and out of curiosity left the bird in my grow out pen until 8 weeks. The bird will be able to eat and drink and if it can see out of the other eye should live.

That said I'd never recommend keeping or breeding a bird with such a serious deformity because there is no way to know the extent of the damage. I did it as an experiment and the bird was processed for meat, I'm not sure that it would be humane to let it live out a full life with the deck stacked the way it is.

Make sure the feeder doesn't go empty or even close, since it can't close it's beak it needs the feeder to be deep and full so it can actually eat.
