My mom's dog discovered a rabbits nest and killed one of the babies, we were called to come collect the other 4 as Mom was concerned that the dogs would get the rest of them, or their mom would abandon them after the disturbance.

I am in no way set up to manage rabbits!!

Thankfully we had some milk supplement and some syringes here. They have taken some of the milk, less than 1 cc each...they are tiny and the eyes not open. My question would be how often are we going to have to keep up the feedings and any other suggestions would be great!!

Wild rabbits are very high strung. We had a nest in our yard abandoned by the mother after our dog scared it away, and we called every wildlife place imaginable asking them to take the babies. Nobody would because there survival rate is very low if not out in the wild with their moms. We were told the best we could do was to feed cat replacement milk and put them in a box with a heating pad. One by one they died. The mother rabbit feeds at dusk and dawn if I remember correctly, so maybe that is how often you are to feed them. I hope you have better luck than we did.

I managed to get a hold of a friend that raises rabbits and she gave me some advice...1cc a day for the first week and only feed twice. Then 1.5 cc..move them up to 3cc's twice a day after their eyes open...Oh and dont forget to massage their bottoms to make them go.

Although I dont have rabbit milkl replacement, I did have goat milk replacement, so we are mixing that up based on her instructions, which is to make it a bit thick since rabbit milk is richer in creams than any other milk.

Heres hoping to a decent survival rate.

Wow, we were certainly a miss on rubbing their rumps! I'd love to hear how it turns out...keep us posted! Glad you have a friend in the know!

According to her its like a momma kitten licking her babies to stimulate them. If they arent urinating then they arent getting enough liquids.

so far we have lost 3 of the babies. kinda sad, but it is so difficult to get them to take anything at all
