We received 4 chicks from a straight run, so we don't know their sex. They all hatched about Jan 15. 2 if them were "crowing" if you can call it that, this morning. How likely a predictor is this of them being a Roo? I have heard that they don't crow until 3-4 months old. I have a video, but don't think I can post it.

Thank you

Sorry I can't answer your question since I'm new and have some 5 day olds. But I'm very interested in how to tell!

If they are crowing & I've had Bantams start at 5 days old, they are positively Roosters. It may sound like a Mouse caught in a wringer, but it's a crow

Bummer man. I was hoping against hope that we were wrong...Now what to do with them. We can't have Roos where we live. Will call the feed/supply store and see if they are interested. Will keep everyone until they become too loud.

Thanks Bill

PZ these guys are banties too.
