Now that I have developed an addiction to hatching my own eggs and will be using this method to supply my flock, I would like to know:
Do you vaccinate your chicks?
Which vaccines do you administer?
What age?

I want to be sure I am properly protecting them, but not going overboard....

I suggest talking to your county extension agent (in the phone book under county) about conditions in your immediate area to get their recommendations. Tell them about how you plan to manage your chickens, especially if you plan to show them or take chickens home from chicken swaps, things that will require exposure to other chickens. My agent hooked me up with a UA Ag professor who raises and used to show chickens. After discussion with him and explaining I did not plan to do things that would expose my chickens, he recommended I not vaccinate for anything. You may have something prevalent in your area or your management practices may be different so you may get a different recommendation.
