baby shower ideas

Well, that last idea for some freaky reason put Tie Dye in my head...
No, I have NO idea where it came from... but there it is...

Maybe each person could tie dye a cloth diaper, burp cloth, onesie, or receiving blanket?

Yeah... weird... I know.

Here's a game my cousin came up with for her baby shower: Give everyone 5 clothespins. Then tell everyone to stop saying baby. As long as the shower lasts anyone who says baby has a clothespin taking by whoever heard them. the person with the most clothespins when the baby shower is over wins a prize.

Fill a tub with rubber ducks with numbers on them do a raffle type drawing with cute prizes!! I am hosting a Winnie The Pooh themed Shower for my daughter on June 20 th! Just happens to be Fathers Day! We are deciding if we may change the date? Not sure yet!!

At my SIL baby shower, they had a game where the host/hostess would put different baby food ( green beans, peaches, peas, applesauce) and smear it in a premie diaper. They walked the diapers around with all these different baby food on them and let everyone smell (or if you were brave enough to taste) it and write down what baby food they thought it was. The person that got the most right, won a prize * candle, lotion...something like that!

At my SIL's shower we were each given a plain white onesie in assorted sizes(newborn,3-6 month,etc.). We had a variety of puffy paint colors and decorated our onsies. The brand was Tulip puffy paint(non toxic and washable). The theme of her shower was "sunshine" so needless to say alot of people made scenic pictures of ... you guessed it....sunshine and flowers!

I barely new my SIL at the time and wanted to be different so knowing how obsessed her husband was with his alma mater i decided to do a big blue and Yellow "M" for University of Michigan . It was the hit of the party and brought my SIL to tears because she realized I "looked outside the box" and thought about her hubby.(Who btw was thrilled when he saw it!!!!)

All in all it was great fun,not messy, not too time consuming and enjoyed by everyone.

I went to a shower were they told us not to buy gift bags or wrapping paper and just put there gift in a brown paper bag or plastic bag of some sort and take the money we would have spent on that and buy a bag of diapers instead. You can never have to many diapers and they loved it.
A cute game to play is have a ball of string and ask everyone to cut a piece off that they think will fit around her belly, Who ever comes close wins a prize.

One thing I remember from a baby shower was as the guests arrived they got a tiny diaper pinned on them. At the end they opened the diaper and whoever had the "poopy" diaper got a prize. It was peanut butter.
Just a thought for that prize is the small size body soap and lotion.
