When I bathe my birds before taking them to a show, I put shampoo in one tub, water with a cup of vinegar to cut the shampoo in a second tub and in a third tub I put plain water in for a final rinse. Then I wrap them in a towel like a burrito to dry them somewhat and sometimes use a blow drier.

Wow! I love the bathing set up, I will do that as they get bigger and hopefully they're as patient as your burrito:fl I had trouble holding them down to put the dust and they kept taking the rag of their face off so I also ended up cutting a tiny sock(my daughter's) on the tip so I can slip it through their heads and it covered their mouth/eyes/face. Worked for some! some chicks are so stubborn.

@NancyD84 How are your Silkies today? Did they get some relief?
They actually seemed to get relief quite fast since they fell asleep quickly after. I did give them a little bit of a boiled egg as a snack and hoping they don't get mad at me for the process:lau hehe. I will say that as I dusted with brush a few crawled up to the sock so I know they didn't want the permethrin to touch them :tonguei will definitely observe them well today. You all have been very helpful and have made me me feel so happy to have run into BYC. I never knew a group like this existed, but glad it does! :clap:hugs

We're happy to have you! :woot

Although I'm sorry about the circumstances! I'm so glad they're feeling better! I give mine egg when they're sick or feeling down, too. Not much can't be forgiven over some cooked egg :drool

Well, welcome to the darkside! You've stumbled into a flock of crazy chicken/duck/turkey/quail lovers (mostly chicken, it seems) and now you'll find yourself here all the time! :highfive:
