I don't think they are pets, but interesting critters anyway.
When we lived in Kansas, and ESPECIALLY when we lived on Okinawa, poisonous snakes could be anywhere , including where we snorkeled, very poisonous sea snakes. It's about being careful, and NEVER putting a body part where there's not clear visibility first.
My phobia is about heights; never plan to be on a roof!
