Hi, even though what i have isnt exactly a chicken, a turkey is pretty similar. So this morning I was taking my baby chicks/turkeys out and saw that one was moving its head up and down heavily. I thought nothing of it until, right now when i took them out to eat, the same baby turkey was now standing almost straight while still moving its head up and down. Does anyone know what the cause can be and any remedy or cure?

Had it recently ate anything? I would check it's mouth to make sure you don't see anything stuck in the throat. I would also feel the crop to see if it feels mushy or hard.

Its been having mainly regular feed for the past week with its crop being soft in the morning and is current soft aswell.

Mine do that sometimes when they swallow something too big. Check it's mouth for obstructions. I'm not sure what else you can do.

No. Birds don't have a stomach. They have a crop, and a gizzard.

Sometimes the crop content can come up if there's a blockage or the bird drinks a lot of water. Also when birds are turned upside down it can occur occasionally. Aspiration of the contents can occur and birds can die very quickly when that happens, so it's always best to be careful handling a bird with a full crop.

Alright, thank you
