Baby turkey came to live with us

Good morning! Yes, Ginger has officially turned into our pet house turkey. At first, we thought "she" would only stay inside when she was little, and then gradually go outside to stay in her darling pink coop, while coming back inside at night ... Well, since we had her at only a day old she has imprinted on my daughter and I - she is very spoiled!!! She follows us everywhere, wants to always be pet and played with, cuddles in our laps ... She truly is just like a house dog or cat. The only problem is the POOP!!! Ugh. She has an extra large dog crate with her toys, bed, and food/water all in it. She is in there at night and a few times during the day. I never leave her alone to run free in the house. I ended up getting these indoor disposable puppy training pads ( 50 XL in a pack ) I like to change them three times a day. She is 2 months old now and the poop has definitely increased, but on the positive side: she has started to only use one corner of her cage, doesn't go in her doggie bed, and all on her own has started to walk down the hallway to where her crate is to go to the bathroom. She rarely goes in the house. I don't want to mess with the whole diaper thing - especially as she gets larger. Her crate is in a separate room and I have no odor problems, but I am very diligent about cleaning her crate. After I change her pad, every time I wipe the whole bottom down with cleaner. Since she's figured out to use only one corner to go to the bathroom, her feet and feathers stay clean. When she was younger, I cleaned her feet every morning by dipping her feet in a Tupperware container filled with warm sudsy water. We tried putting her in her coop and run, but she CRIES and CRIES!!! We even sit outside with her, but she will just pace and pace back and forth crying until we let her out. It's so sad!!! She loves being free outside with us, so we make sure to bring her outside as much as possible. She is beautiful, smart, sweet, and fun ... Totally worth the extra work!!! I'll share with you a picture of her crate set-up from when she was younger. Let me know if you have any questions!

A potty trained turkey? Well now I've heard it all.
Haha I know right??? I don't know where people got this notion that turkeys are lacking in the intelligence department ... I'm telling you, she IS smart!!!

Most people just don't spend enough time around birds - animals in general really - to realise how complex they actually are.

I saw ypur other thread about wanting to have a "house chicken", so if that's where this is going, I'm gonna say that you should not have a pet turkey in you bedroom.
