baby turkey dependency issues?

I have 5 week old turkeys out during perfect 80's weather. they for the second day huddle in corner and yelp until someone goes out near them and only then will they explore around the yard. Apparently possible fear of safety from predators? How is best to handle this and how long will this last?

How big is the yard? They should be in an enclosure where they can explore a little section at will but have a safe place to retreat back to for safety. something like a small "tractor" type enclosure would be ideal.

so maybe that is the problem, no place to retreat to. just larger opening with few trees and a place to roost. no enclosure. Bring them in nightly.
