I remove the shell almost immediately, and take the duck/chick out when its almost dry. Yes, you need a heatlamp. They technically don't have to eat the first day because they're absorbing the yolk sac, but I go ahead and put food and water in there. I put vinegar and garlic in the water. It will boost their immunityWell, it is either from my black or chocolate duck. The father is either my fawn and white runner or a magpie.....lol It looks chocolate so far. I hope so!
Any advise? I am not really sure what to do with her now? How soon do you move them out of the bator and into a brooder with heatlamp? I have bought babies before, but they were 3+ days old when I got them.....
