I currently have one bantam rooster, one big rhode island red rooster, four gold orpington hens, two rhode island red hens. Also, I'm raising 8 two-month-olds, 6 of which might be cockerels, all hatched, raised and integrated into my flock thus far. Now that it's summer, and they are getting bigger, I have to put a plan in action... I have two penned areas atm, one is 30'x15', the other is double the first. My hens and teens are all together in the big run, my two roos are in the other which runs alongside the big one, separated with chicken wire and hardware cloth. They can see each other and frequently interact (talk or look) through the wire. If I put all my boys in the smaller run, and put wood siding between them and the girls so they can't see them, would the boys get along? I'll probably put my bantam buddy with the hens, and keep the 7 boys (if thats what the teens become) in their own coop. Does anyone have experience keeping an all rooster coop?
Thanks for the help :)
