Bachelor pad?

My rooster is pretty aggressive and over-mates the hens to the point where he is ripping the saddles I got them right off. I am going to separate him but don't want him to be lonely so I am planning creating a bachelor pad. Could I introduce him to a new rooster without them fighting to the death? How do I do that? They won't be able to see the hens and their coop would be pretty far away from the other one. Also what would a bachelor pad look like? Would it just be a coop without nest boxes and part of the run blocked off so they can't see the hens? Thanks so much!

You have at least three different threads running on this topic. It’s easy to see you are really stressed out about this but you are getting some really good advice from a variety of good experienced people. I really think you will be a lot better off in the long run if you would listen to them. Rehome him. This is not being a good experience for you.

But you desperately want to try to keep this unexpected rooster. You can try building a separate coop and pen for him, just a regular coop without nests, and see how he reacts. You can try keeping him by himself, whether he can see or hear the hens or not. He is not going to be real happy and the hens may want to be near him (believe that or not), but he will be alive and they will be safe. They will learn to deal with it. They are not human beings with the same feelings and ability to reason. They are animals and will adapt. But because they are living animals, no one can give you any guarantees as to how they will react, but they and you should be better off with them separated.

You can try getting another grown rooster or two and put with him in a bachelor pad. Whether they can see or hear the hens or not, they may fight to the death or they may learn to get long. There will be initial fighting. I strongly recommend against this as I think you are almost certainly just making your problem worse. When you are stuck in a hole quit digging.
