At the moment I have alot of baby button quail (way too young to sex yet).
Is it possible to have an all 'hen' inclosure and an all "roo" inclosure?
I have about 6 inclosures, but would like to use a couple to colour breed certain pairs.

These quail are pretty territorial. You can have them together for a long time just fine but then one day they will just "snap" and there will be disaster I'm affraid. Even females can turn on eachother over territory

I must concur with quailbrain that short term it may be ok but there is a potential for disaster.
I've had 5 Males in 1 cage. And another 5 Males in another cage for several months now. I do see
an occasionally squabble but thus far no worse than a few feathers pulled off a head here and there.
I'm trying to re-home all of these males to free up the 2 cages and separate the remainder of my
birds into Pairs as they should be.
I found someone who wanted 5 BQ to do housecleaning in their aviary and didn't want to deal with
gathering up eggs so that was perfect for both of us. Now if I can find homes for the remaining 10
I'll be happy. BTW if you know of someone who has an aviary and need some housekeepers give them my
screen name here or email. I'd make a REAL good deal on them.
