wild and wonderful w virginia
After a long hiatus I have chickens again. 8 standard cochin girls. These have always been my favorite. I just love their big fluffiness and sweet dispositions. There is one white- minnie pearl. 2 splash- clara and hettie. 5 partridge - 1 named chicklet and the other 4 are the fluffy butt bunch..they look to much alike to name each.
I live in WV. We have been having a very cold winter since the beginning of January. But the girls seem to be doing fine. Standard cochins are a good choice for cold weather due to their having lots of feathers and not having large combs and wattles. Mine are almost 4 months old, so I was worried due to their young age. But doing great.
Sorry for rattling on. Hope everyone's chickens are doing great, especially those that are in this xtra cold winter..
