So I had chickens for years had over 50 at one time. Have not had chickens for about 6 years now. I live in city limits and allowed 4 hens without a permit. I will be getting a permit for six hens..sadly no Rooster allowed...my question what breeds to go with? I had many breeds last time and need to narrow it down..definitely a Barred Rock or two love Bramahs...but also want a fancy chicken silkie frizzle or a naked neck..maybe a lavender orphington...im just so undecided as I can only get 6 ...anyways im AngieMae and happy to be back..my original name back in the day was just AngieMae but don't remember my password or have access to my old email...

Hello Angie, and welcome back to BYC! :frow Glad you re-joined.

I would avoid a frizzle anything. They have terrible feather quality and usually have some kind of issue related to it.

You should stick with whatever breeds you enjoyed most the first time out. Good luck with your new mini, roosterless flock.

Welcome to BYC, Angie.
I would not mix a silkie or any one female bantam with large fowl. I have both standards and bantam in my flock but I think one or two bantams would get bullied without a rooster to keep the big girls in line.
