This is extremely irritating.

Intermittently, the "back button" will not work at this site. It's not my computer. Both my computers do it and it is only on this site that it happens.

It is necessary to close the site down and re-open it, in order to keep reading. Sometimes it is so irritating that I simply leave this site and go elsewhere.

From reading other support threads, on other Huddler sites, this seems to be occurring, intermittently, since software update in December?. When this happens what occurs when you Refresh the page? When this happens again check your browser's History cache (same page being referenced repeatedly?). Maybe some coder forgot to place POST command correctly. Setting browser to never go to cache (force refresh directly to page) might work (I've been trying to replicate error and haven't been able to).

See Rob's post, here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/618521/bugs-problems-with-the-new-platform/410#post_8350683

And (posts 424/28): https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/618521/bugs-problems-with-the-new-platform/420

The more info about OS/browser/connection speed that everyone provides could be most useful in squashing this bug or suggesting workaround.

Hang in there (have enjoyed reading your posts)

There was a bug a few months ago that caused this to happen in certain browsers and with certain ads, but we believe it has been fixed. If you're still experiencing this, please reply with:

  1. Your browser and version
  2. When did it start happening
  3. Does clicking "refresh" allow you to go back
  4. Do you have ads turned on or off
  5. any other info that might be helpful

I have windows 7, use yahoo. It only happens on this site, I have to double click or it won't go back , it will just stay on the same page. I have the ads turned off.

Sorry, I think I see the confusion. "I have windows 7, use yahoo." That's actually your computer operating system (Windows 7) and probably your ISP (Yahoo). Your browser will probably be something like:

  • Google Chrome version 16
  • Internet Explorer version 8
  • Firefox version 9

You can find these by going to the "Help" and then "About" portion of your browser window.

I hope that helps!

I am using IE version 9
started in the last 7-14 days and refreshing did fix the problem (this time- hopefully it will continue to work)
just checked, do I have to refresh every time I want to go back??? it stopped working again when I didn't refresh again.
ads are turned on (you mean I can turn those off??)

We've got a support ticket into the engineers, so please keep posting answers to the questions above to hopefully help us to determine the commonalities between the members that are and aren't having problems.

Thanks!
