ADVICE PLEASE Stood on a chick and guts came out

The title alone seemed graphic, but curiosity got the best of me. This sounds so horrible. The best advice here is definitely to put the chick down, but then again, if she's still going, then I'm curious of what will happen. If you are willing to let her go on, then I suggest keeping her in a dark space where food and water is easy for her to get to. If you really wanted to fight for her, I feel like there is more that could be done for her, but I think in the end, she may pass on her own. It'd definitely be a miracle if she does pull through.

Wow, I'm so sorry this happened. And that you lost Lazarus. Honestly, I think it's so impressive how you responded to the situation. It sounds like you've done everything right, so props for that. If the chick doesn't seem to be in pain maybe ride it out? I think you get some solid advice already. I hope she survives🙏.

The chick seems fine though, she is still weak. She is udner a heat plate, it takes up the whole box so there is a high side she can go if she gets hot. I am boiling an egg for her right now. She seem OK her breathing is no longer bad and she seems normal but weak, she isn'tpeeping excessively either. I am not willing to spend 300 NZD (150 USD) on an operation if she pulls through she pulls through. I think the one major risk is infection her guts got a bit dirrty, I cleaned them very well with a wet napkin didn't put antiseptic on them because I think that can be bad for their gut health inside.

Pictures:

1. She got out of a darkplace into bright light so she is squinting a bit (my carpet is ugly I know)

Never had a situation like this.
But have had a bird that had her "works" come out with an overlarge egg. The "works" were gently pushed back in and she was kept quiet and warm and recovered.
I would think it was similar in the trauma sence.
Have also accidently stepped on quail chicks (King quail so tiny) and they stagger around and keep going - most survive.
Chicks bones are a lot softer than adults, so less likely to break.
So your chicken may make it. Do watch the wound area and make sure their is no sign of infection. Keep the area clean.

Miracles do happen. That's why I prefaced my post with "is she active and behaving normally". Fix a solution of one cup warm water and one teaspoon of sugar with a pinch of salt and baking soda, and dribble it onto the side of the beak so it can suck in the drops. This will treat shock which could end up killing the chick after she so miraculously survived this calamity.

She diedlast night I did use that sugar water thing though, an infection I think
So sorry for your loss. :hugs :hugs

I must say, even though she didn't make it, I don't think you should let this be in vain. There's probably nobody on here that would have done what you did and any of us would have immediately culled her.
I went to bed thinking about this last night and I'm thinking you should go to college to be a surgeon or something, and maybe serve as a military surgeon (or even go where there isn't many doctors, but is a great need). You thought fast, and though you didn't have the right resources, you did what you thought was necessary. That could be a good quality as a military surgeon because you'd be encountering injuries that'd you'd never see in school, but with enough study, you'd be able to know how to treat them, thus saving human lives. You really ought to think about it.

Yeah that would be OK But seeing live intestines on a large being makes me feelwoozy, like when I dress goats. I am going to become a chook farmer, and maybe part-time vet
