Back into the flock

How so I re-introduce a hen who has been absent from the flock due to injury for quite a while. She has been out of the coop/run for about 9 days. She might be out for another week or so. How do I get her back into the flock without incident?

I always confine the new bird with the others where they can be seen for a few weeks.

They have a short memory you might get away with just putting her in but I would watch closely.

Do you have a dog crate you can sit in the coop or run to hang with the chickens while she is getting better? I take broody hens out to a pen for 5 days at a time, and they do fine just going back in with the rest. She probably would enjoy seeing her friends even from a cage.

I have thought about taking her outside to see the others in the dog crate that is my "hospital recovery room". But it's huge! I will have to get some help! It's ironic really. The crate is the chocolate lab's. the one responsible for her injuries.
