I have been a member of BYC for a few years, used it heavily when I first started out as a newbee chicken owner...had to move, gave away all my chickens, came back, so today I just got 12 new chicks with 6 more to get on Friday. The 12 today, a mixed bag of breeds...straight run, I tried my hand at wing sexing...we'll see how good I did! Friday I will pick up 6 Silver Laced Wyandottes...very excited, haven't had those before!

My question....remind me again on how to determine a barred rock sex by the spot on the head?

With the Best Regards, if the white spot is more circular and tight it's a hen. If it's spread more throughout the head it's a roo. Also hen BRs are black with grey stripes, and Roos are more greyish all together
