Hello Chicken People!!
I have not had chickens for quite a while now, but I am excited to get started again! I first had chickens when I was a child, I still remember the first time I tasted a fresh egg and how silly my brother was about eating something that so freshly came from an animal's butt! LoL!!! But I loved it and I loved the girls who made them for me. I still remember our first flock consisted of Rhode Island Reds, White Leggins, Barred Rocks and the "exotic" Amerucaunas. We had 2 of each and we could only trick my fussy brother into eating the white eggs because he thought they were store bought and therefore "safe" for his consumption. LoL!!!
Currently, I have no chickens... but that will soon change. I am planning on getting some Australorps, some Buff Orpingtons, a couple Amerucaunas, one Polish and one Jersey Giant rooster.
My favorite part is going to be collecting those lovely eggs and watching the hilarious chicken antics.
