Back to school supplies.

I noticed! DH just looked at each other and both said "since when is a cell phone a BTS item? "

Every child here has thier own computer (furnished by the school) but needs to have thier own flash drive for saving thier work (a small $5 one will do fine). However the juinor college down the road bans all laptops in classes, which makes no sense. All papers must be typed to be handed in, but even in writing classes, they are expected to write in pencil, then go home type up a rough draft, then type out a final draft, why not let them use the class time they get for writing to begin typing out a draft instead?

Those ads aren't sponsored by schools, they are sponsored by HP and other major electronics suppliers. When a school is a lap top school the are provided at the school for the student's use. As for Ipods and garbage like that it is better kept at home. Our students aren't even allowed to bring them to school. The cell phone policy was changed this to allow them as long as they are off during classtime.

Since large corporations want to sell them LOL!!

Since when is "Hoochie MaMa" clothing considered BTS?? Most of it sold can't even be worn at school and then I get parents complaining that it was being advertised as Back to School!

I had to buy my daughter a flash drive because they are switching to lap tops

our kids can have cell phons at school ... but have to be turned off ... if they get taken up we have to pay $10 to get them back

Yeah talk about backwards, the Kindergarten school list was only shorter than the 6th grade list by 2 items and was far longer than every other grade list. I spent about 30 bucks on my Kindergartener's supplies and 30 on the clothes I have gotten him so far. Not bad but he needs about 60 more in clothes (boys blow those knees out on the jeans too fast) my Preschooler is $150 for the entire year...since preschool is not required they make us pay out of pocket for it... but no supply lists!

I replace more pants to that.

well my mom has been buying the obvious things since mid july. like a binder paper notebooks folders pencils all that automatic stuff. ill be taking algebra 1 this year and will be using a graphing calculator . luckily the school was new just last year and got all brand new equipment so my calculator will be furnished by the school. idk how much my supplies will be cause i dont have a supply list yet but expect to get one thursday

My son got his cell phone at 14. Then, it was only a two way thingy. He could only call me or 911. Then at 16 I gave him full priviledges. I refused to buy him a laptop, but my mom did it anyways. I guess that is what grandma's are for - to say to heck with what mom says and buy it anyways.

I get lucky on my daughters BTS clothes. Her birthday is right before school season. Everyone always gets her clothes because she has too many toys to even close her door. LOL. I just save the clothes from her birthday and she starts school with them.

My son got his phone last Christmas, right before his 12th birthday. I told him that he can call, text and use internet all he wants (within reason.) The only limit he has is no downloads. The only people he chooses to talk to are family. The only thing he uses the internet for is to check the weather. My son is a weirdo.

We have an unlimited plan so I don't mind him using it as long as he doesn't do something that he knows is off limits. He is usually a good kid and knows how to behave.
