Back to school supplies.

My 9 year old has his own cell phone, it has our numbers programmed in. That way while he's at tae kwan do or music lessons he can call if he's done early (he gets nervious if we stay and watch), so I can go to the market or run errands during this time.

We save our stuff to the school server, we each have our own personal, private folder. That pencil thing makes no sense, I totally agree with you! We usually just use our laptops and print off a rough draft for correcting, then go back and edit.

when I was in school (only 6 years ago) no one used laptops and we all had a password protected profile on the school network, but had to save everything to floppy discs. I'm only 25 and I feel technologically retarded just 6 years later...

Yeah, when I was in college taking a "Technology for Teachers" course, we had to buy a ZIP disc to use in class because ZIP drives were "t3h futur3!".

I've never even seen a ZIP drive outside of that classroom. Flash memory rolled in almost immediately after that. Now everyone just has those keychain memory sticks and SD card readers.
