Pics
of Brahmas
That is a bummer.

Maybe these 2 will take after their dad??
That's a happy thought and maybe the light one will.....I sure hope so because his/her dad is everything I want in a Brahma. Unfortunately the dark cross is already showing signs of aggression. It attacks the second I put my hand in the brooder just like his mom, aunts and uncles did when they were young. Not just one peck, it keeps coming back again and again. I think it might be fear aggression but it doesn't really matter...I won't breed any animal that does that so the darks need to go.

I hope that no one thinks badly of Brahmas when they read this as I'm sure I just got a poor line of darks....most others say their darks are very sweet. Maybe if everyone adds culling for a bad attitude to the list when making decisions about breeder stock, mean birds won't show up in anyone else's flock.

Hopefully you guys can answer my random question. My little brahma chick has just hatched, but im wondering what colour she will be? Her father is the handsome chap on my pictures-dark brahma and her mother is a columbian buff brahma. The chick is all yellow, will she be white? Im rubbish with genetics and its my first time hatching my own-any ideas?

I can't say for sure but from what I gathered from those people who know genetics on the other Brahma thread. It will be a buff columbian chick with a lot of black leakage/smutty look. I guess time will tell and like huntress said take pictures so we can follow along :)

here is ashley i believe to be a buff brahma, he/she is a bantam. this bird is absolutely a lover, always wants to be held an petted. my only fear is that she/he may be a roo. it really doesn't matter but i would like to figure it out.

I'm thinking she might be a he just because of how big and red her comb is. But I'm not familiar with bantams so I guess I'm not much help. XD

I don't know what color your chick will be but I sure hope you take some pictures and keep us updated as she grows.

I think she/he is a cutie but I believe by the features it is a cross of some sort. She does lack the Colombian pattern and he wings are carried more like a Japanese bantam. She also has a tail more like a sebright and a single comb. It does have lovely feathered feet thought & hopefully a sweet disposition.

I see puffy cheeks and a straight comb, upright stance and dropped wings. Looks more like a Mille Fleur D'Uccles to my eye--still very cute!
