Backyard Brahmas!!

@livininbrazil and @Huntress78
Here are the pictures of my babies. I have no idea which ones they are. The breeder said blue or gold. Maybe y'all can help me out. They are both 2 weeks.

I've got a bit of experience with partridge and I've never been able to tell until about 6 weeks whether blue or gold. You need some decent primaries and some breast feathers to be sure of what you have as far as color goes. When the primaries are in, if the bottom feather is black, it is probably a gold. If blue, it is probably blue. Pullets you can tell a little earlier sometimes by looking at the breast feathers, If they look more gold than brown, generally that means blue. Both blue and gold will have gray down, the darker the bird the lighter the gray will look. See the back end of this gold partridge hen. The cock is the same, but hard to see in this picture:

That's great info!! I love knowing things like this. It makes the time of them growing up and changing even more fun, things to watch for. Thank you very much!

Bumper car those are beautiful. I love the roos colors. I so am switching over next year, but so many to choose from. Hmm time to research.

Rare sighting of my ever-elusive and super-determined broody hen.. She came out to scope the babies in the yard.. Had stars in her eyes for a minute but now she's back in the run, lol. :)

There are only 2 I just posted 2 pics of each. But because of the rate of feathering and tail feathers I was thinking the same thing. First one pullet and second cockerel. I hope that is the case.

When they feather out more I will try to get more pictures. They are not very into selfies!!
Oh, well then you have a pair it would seem. Nice. The pullet def seems to be a gold partridge, but I´m not sure about the cockerel. There seems to be this bluey haze abouty him, but that´s prob the photo.....
You´ll really enjoy them, I´m sure.

Well gosh, I think they're pretty now? To me anyway LOL

Well, of course they are, but you wait till they´re over a year old...they´ll be stunning.

I´m waiting for my cockerel to come on..similar colouring, and his mum´s the same partridge colouring as yours, but with the yellow feet (when you can see them!) He would not stay still to take a pic.
And here´s one of my supposed-to-be partridge that I bought in as a tiny chick

, that looks a bit like one of yours I think...she´s obviously not quite partridge.
And her sister:
Well these three are together, so I´ll see what comes out of it.

Mine have yellow legs and feet as well. Just when they get older and start laying they tend to start to pale (at least mine do). Add poor lighting and an improper aperture setting on the camera and you get washed out colors. I usually correct my pictures, but didn't do it to that one........

Hey all!!
New to Brahma's and chickens all together!
I have 3 light Brahma's that I was told were pullets when I bought them until I called the store the other day on suspicious that I have a Roo, and now they claim they were straight run..:/.. We dont want roosters.. Only girls, here for eggs.. Ive posted on a few threads to get opinions and the majority is that its a roo but that their maybe a small possibility it could be a pullet so here it goes.. What do you guys think...its 7/8 weeks old. Thanks
