Backyard Brahmas!!

I'm not a seller. I just love to keep them and breed them. Yup, he doesn't have much feathers on his toes. Lemme post a picture of one of it's chick. That chick is now 6.5 months old and it's a Male. Have a look at him. And lemme know how's it.

Comb is definitely not a pea comb (what brahmas are supposed to have). Usually my young cockerels have a definite 3 rows of peas, changes as they get older.

Vulture hocks are the long stiff feathers on the upper thighs ofcertain feather legged breeds. They almost resemble a second pair of wings on some birds.
For an example look up d'uccles.

Ah ha, I learned something new. If I hadn't ventured giving the wrong answer, I might have never known what those feathers were called : )

here are some vulture hocks on 5 week olds:

They aren't as pronounced as some, but you can see that they have long stiff feathers on their hock areas (knees sort of). Hope that helps.

Yeah. For brahmas and cochins and some other breeds they're a big fault here in the US. But for breeds like D'uccles they're an adorable part of the breed standard.
