Backyard Brahmas!!

Anyone know how to get a buff laced color? What colors do you need to achieve this? I'm not necessarily asking for Brahmas. In layman's terms please...Thanks in advance. And don't say use the chicken calc..I have never been able to use that thing...lol
Buff is a Columbian pattern (in brahmas). Laced is a laced pattern. Best bet is to find a breeding pair of laced that of the variety that you are trying to replicate.

My Buffs are now 7 weeks old and my Lights are 12 weeks old. I'm pretty sure I have all girls. I haven't seen any of them lift a leg on a tree yet. <sigh>

I'm so new to this Brahma stuff that that's the only way I'd be able to tell, even now!

I'm right there with you! I don't think I'll know until they either lay and egg or crow. Lol

Post some pictures and we will try to help you.
Thank you so much for your offer. But at the risk of sounding, well, stoopid, it's not that big a deal to me whether they are boys or girls. I know with all of the other great folks being anxious to find out that sounds strange, but in my coop it just is whatever it is. Knowing what they are now or finding out in a few months just isn't that big a deal to me, since it really doesn't change anything here. I know, I know - I'm crazy! But that's such a comfortable place for me to be!

Not at all crazy. Out of 25 chicks in my grow out pen, 15 are boys. Add that to the 4 boys that I already have and I'm about 60/40 boys/girls.

I love your humor! I am learning that there are a lot of folks that do not know what to look for when sexing their birds. It is okay.
