So, I'm trying to figure out if one of my 10 week old light brahmas is a roo?!! Hopefully you can get to the photo by clicking on the link? Anyway, Beaker has a much more pronounced comb and iridescent feathers but also feathered out sooner and is much bigger than my other who's the same age. (S)he has longer tail feathers than my other LB too, I'm so confused??!!

Here's another photo.

Could you get a clearer picture of the saddle? That would help determine, but I wouldn't be so quick to label this bird a roo.
One of my light Brahmas (Georgie) had a bright red comb and fast-growing wattles at that age, and she made suspicious noises. She had us fooled right up until the first egg! But she never made the suspicous sounds again, and she was all girl!
Good luck to you! Even if your bird is a roo, I hear Brahmas are some of the nicest boys you can have.

ETA: I looked closer at the pictures, and honestly, your two look just like mine did at that age, with one all red and the other completely pink-faced. And they were both girls.

What's not to love about Brahmas?! They are so sweet. So tell me, are the roos nice too? I would love to get some Dark Brahmas some day.

There is nothing not to love about Brahmas! Excepyt maybe when you have birds with white foot feathers and mud in the yard.

I have not had a Brahma roo personally, but I've heard so many good things from people who do, and I've never heard of anyone having a bad experience with one. They say they are excellent flock protectors, due to their enormity, and despite that, they are especially gentle with the hens, and rarely aggressive.

Thank you for your quick response!! I can't have Roos where I live but I'm keeping him/her until I'm sure and if (s)he's quiet she can stay forever! My main concern is that I couldn't separate them, they are so affectionate and take care of each other so well. I love my Brahmas!!!

Looks like a cockerel to me. They make a pretty pair!
