Backyard Brahmas!!

Just took some recent pics of my favourite guys!

These are my 8 month old cockerels.

This little fellow and his siblings are 3 months old. They are always curious about the camera lol.

I LOVE the enclosure you have for them. We are planning our outdoor run area and I like the tunnel idea

I have two gold partridge brahma hens who lay the prettiest light brown eggs each day. Here is a photo of Tilly free ranging with my amber links hen, Coffee.

Sadly they don't have a pea comb, but I raised them from week olds, and it's so easy to get attached! Just couldn't give them up, as long as they give me yummy eggs, they're staying! I don't have a brahma rooster, so not planning on breeding.

My neighbour brought over his incubator last night for us to borrow. I've cleaned it and have had it running since last night. Tested the auto turner today. I plan on putting 7 eggs from my dark brahma hen in there this evening...anyone have any helpful hints?

My neighbour has hatched 2 batches of eggs this spring, with about 75% hatch rate from his own eggs. He said all he does is keep the water filled and leave it alone. It is an old incubator, a Marsh TX6.

Thanks :)

Unfortunately I can't offer any advice, I'm completely new to breeding. I do plan on filling my incubator with Buff Orpington eggs though, sometime this spring. Sounds like you'll have some adorable babies! Don't forget to share photos once they hatch!

Thanks, I have my doubts they will hatch, but I sure hope they do! I love seeing the different colours of brahmas on this thread, makes me want to add another type to my flock, but I sure do love my darks!!
