We have two chickens and one rooster. Our rooster is a black/partridge Cochin and our girls are a white Sussex and a grey/blue silkie. We now have the pleasure of several eggs hatching. They are so far black with some having more fuzzy feet than others. Will it be easy to sex them I heard Sussex mixed with rir can be sex linked and so could silkies. I’ve never tried before. Thanks. Also any idea on colors. I’m not a chicken geneticist and have no idea on dominate or recessive genes in chickens I tried to read but....

It's not the breed of the parents that makes them able to be sexed but coloring. There are different colors of Sussex. Some can be used to make sex links, like the Light Sussex with certain roosters. White Sussex cannot reliably be used. The genetics have to be right and yours are not.

It is possible you will get some chicks some color other than black, but don't expect much. You'd need luck for the partridge in that rooster to find something to match up with other than black in those hens. So enjoy those chicks and hopefully yo will see some interesting things when they feather out.

Mostly black chicks so far but one yellow brown and black chick and several black and white and black and grey

Can you post photos when appropriate. No need to rush if they are still in the incubator, you don't want to mess with your hatch, especially since it seems to be going so well.

Your rooster is a cross. It sounds like at last some of your hens might be also. That can be a lot of fun when they hatch.

No incubator we started them out until day 17 in incubator and left two eggs with them since they were iffy on brodyness. They are hatching with mamma
