(1) I don't have any chickens yet. I have been doing research on the net and found this group. I am pretty sure I want to do this, but my husband is....well I'll just say he is not on the same page as me. We live in Little Rock. Is anyone else on this list from L.R.?

Generally once the indifferent spouse actually meets the little feathered cuties, they end up coming over to the chicken side. Don't be surprised if he starts reading the same book.. If you go to "where am I, where are you ," in the social forum you can post on your state thread and see who lives near your area. BTW

My other half wasn't sure about the chickens either. I pondered the idea for about four years before waking up one day and saying, "I'm getting some chicks." Now he LOVES the chickens. He says they are relaxing and therapeutic. We went from wanting four chicks to having 16. LOL We even rescued an injured pullet who still sleeps in the house at night. She is his favorite! Of course I do all the work involving the chickens, but you can't expect miracles.

Welcome to BYC! I'm not from Little Rock, but I was born in Hot Springs, AR, and have been to Little Rock on several occassions. Hopefully your husband will come around to the same page as you. Raising chickens is very rewarding. Good luck.

Well I wont say what happened to my spouse when I was told me or the poultry well the Geese, Ducks, Guinea & Chickens are still here ......

I was the reluctant spouse. Now I am the kooky chicken man, spreading the word one pullet at a time. In the meantime, my wife has gone back to other hobbies! If you are ready to get hooked on chickens, you've come to the right place. The good news is that you won't regret it. Welcome to BYC!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

My guy wasn't on board either! So sometimes you have to just go ahead with your projects and follow your heart. Some of these men come around, and some don't.

BUT....you personally won't regret having your flock.

Lots of members from your state. Here in the Arkansas state thread so you can chat with your chicken neighbors...

Great to have you aboard and enjoy this new adventure you are on!

I was the voice of reason too. Sometimes I wonder where it went wrong... We went from January's "Honey, seriously we can't have chickens, the yard's too small" to today, with me jumping about all ecstatic about our first eggs.

In other words, he'll come around.
