have you considered bantams? you could get more, and more variety in a smaller space.
i urge you to go to your cities website, or contact animal control in your area and make sure that you get the backyard poultry regs squared away. it would be a shame to order your chicks, raise them, yard them, and then have someone report you to the city and you lose your ladies. it happens.
