We got hit with a tropical storm and the back part of my yard, where my coop is, flooded. The coop has never really smelled that bad, but after it was under water for 5 days everything has come to the surface. The chickens are in a different part of the yard now. I just raked in a few bags of ground up lime to help neutralize everything. But I'm not sure it's going to be enough. I was wondering if some mild bleach water mix would help kill anything. Any ideas what I can do to help?

Have you considered seeding it with grass seed ?

I don't have time to wait for it to grow. We have 6 big dogs and we literally have to go out with them every time to make sure they don't try to break in to where the chickens are. It a very thrown together setup

Wow, over night the lime has taken away almost all the smell. It's crazy. I'm going to keep watering it down for the rest of the day an I believe it should be good by this afternoon to put them back in
