Western Piedmont Community College's Sustainable Agriculture Program in partnership with the International Center for Poultry and the Sustainable Poultry Network will host a workshop, “Raising Backyard Poultry”, from 6:00-9:00pm on Thursday October 4th in the Learning Resource Center on the WPCC main campus in Morganton, NC. The workshop is free to the public and topics will include breed selection, care, housing, feed and forage, free ranging birds, egg and meat production and incubation. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences and have individual questions answered. The instructor for the evening is Jim Adkins, founder of the International Center for Poultry and the Sustainable Poultry Network.

If you already raise chickens and want to expand your knowledge, want to begin your own backyard flock or just like to spend time with other “chicken people” join us for this exciting opportunity!
